Building IKEA Balance Beam

IKEA balance beam – The balance beam is considered by most gymnasts as the apparatus more difficult, as it requires a lot of concentration and especially balance. If you are in gymnastics and is interest in building their own balance beam, the process is quite simple. This article goes through to build a robust five-foot-long wooden balance beam using a few simple tools and wood.

IKEA balance beam, mount the two supports that hold up the beam. Then, add a 1 1/2 foot 2 by 4 on the edge and put a 2-foot 4 of 4 normal to the edge in each form three sides of a rectangle. Also drive four screws through each end of two four into two 4 by 4s. Shape the balance beam with three 5 feet 2 by 4s. And then, glue the wide sides of 2 by 4s together.  Sand any rough edges off the nine cut pieces. Apply stain or paint and let dry.

Stand the two brackets on the legs and parallel to each four meters apart. Determining 5-foot beam of guide’s perpendicular to them, with four half-inch edge of the beam down. Make adjustments as six inches of each end of the beam extends beyond the supports. Then, drive four screws through the bottom of each support into the IKEA balance beam.
